YHST / youpiwaza’s Hallucinate Secret Technique

Hey there. It’s been a while I wanted to add some words and share this technique I use on most games, and I didn’t see anyone using Hallucinate this way already.

I’ve been using it for more than a year now and versus almost every other champs & team comps and I’ll give you the how to, pros n’ cons and other stuff.

And its a pretty heavy bait/juke weapon, with high potential. Shaco mechanics for the win :p

On paper your composition, cautiously maintain a bill on the sources you cite within the article’s leading physique, since every resource you happen to be using in your article has to be contained within the guide checklist. A summary is really a concise paraphrase of all of the main ideas in a essay creator. Referencing is necessary at the same time as your reference list ought to stay the end of your own article. Always doublespace, by way of example, text of your own newspaper, quotations, notes, alongside the guide page.

All sources contained within the References section should be cited within the body of the papers (and all sources mentioned within the paper has to be comprised within the References part ). Part of the issue with design is it’s summary. The whole reference subsequently need to be comprised within the reference section. The construction of the reflective essay is fairly substantially like the arrangement of the majority of academic composing.

The topic with this particular paragraph need to be in the first or second sentence. Middle the word Abstract and from then on follow together with the sentence. For the balance of the article, utilize the acronym. Don’t utilize quote marks, and also make sure to double space the quote and your own creating.

Why use it

It is a very unsecure way to mindf*ck and outplay your opponent. High risks high rewards. The goal is to trick your opponent in order to get him to go all in on the clone, while you get near him.

New technique : crafting & polishing

This technique has born through mostly on thoughts : You can R Hallucinate after having Q deceived and not break the invisibility. I call this technique “Drop by clone”. But as cool & mind fuck it is, it has some cons : ~1 sec root ( .5scast & .5s remove) and also the enemy team sees ultimate smoke puff. It still can be used but is pretty obvious to any experienced player.

Then I saw this video > Siv HD juke school clone shuffling

Credits to SivHD 😉

First I thought this was great, but unlikely to work with Shaco’s clone due to the complexity to set in a good situation. But then i worked out.

What is it exactly

Pretty simple. Drop by clone without the cons (root & smoke).

  1. Use R Ultimate in order to get your clone.
  2. Command him walk away from your target
  3. Q Deceive towards your target
  4. The clone reach max range and get summoned back at you / near your target

Make the point :
You are near your target. You are still invisible & free to walk. Your clone is visible.

Make the point from the enemy point of view :
Shaco just Deceived into me ! He has high burst but is kinda fragile ! > Mash da keyboard.

How to / learning

First tries

First of all, you must know and feel when tour clone gonna come back at you.

Just pop your ultimate ad make it run away from you so it summons back. Again. And again. And again.

Now send it to the limit, just before it summons back. Let it chill here.
Q deceive in the opossite direction. Your clone is near you.

This is the most basic.

Advanced use

Metaphor time ! When I look at my clone running away, I see the limit as a firecracker. The path the clone uses is a fuse. When the clone reach the limit : BOOM ! It pops back.

If you don’t move and only your clone runs, the fuse is slow.
If you both runs, the fuse is quick.
When you (long range) deceive, you just cut some fuse away.

The goal here is to have the perfect fuse in order to pop the clone back at you not as soon as you deceive, but as near as your target as possible.

It takes all lots of trials and error to master this technique, but I can assure you it’s worth 😉

The most difficult part in my opinion is then to command the clone to attack as soon as it pops ; else it will follow you and might give a hint.
Proc it too soon and the clone runs at you… and your fuse is basically off.

Note : If your clone doesn’t get killed during the fight. You can also use it as utility to pop your clone to the jungle camp. I often do this in order to practice 😉

In game footage from an old video.

Pros

Mind f*ck / sometimes enemies will continue to attack the clone even after your reveal

Enemies can burn abilities, even ultimates or summoners spell on clone. Best use on targetted kiting abilities like

  • Vayne E condemn
  • Ryze W rune prison
  • Jayce E thundering blow
  • Nasus W wither
  • etc., you get the point

Can add a lot of chaos to teamfight : clone pops in front of adc (and got cced by the enemy team). Adc dashes/flash away but the real shaco is already there :

  • You are on top on adc who is out of position, has less juke potential, and you got a free crit on him (Don’t forget to Backstab).
  • The enemy team focus on the clone, which make them distracted, espescially if while killing Shaco, a wild Shaco appears next to the adc. It can open a decent window of action for a heavy initiator (Amumu, Morgana, Sejuani)

Random notes

  • This technique has a higher effectiveness on AP Shaco thanks the the clone 1:1 AP ratio.
  • It also removes the “who is shaco ping technique”. If you didn’t know when you ping Shaco before he ults, the ping will stay on top of the real Shaco. If they can’t see you they can’t ping you.
  • I recommand using long range Q Deceive to prevent the enemy team to see your smoke puff.

When to use

Two cases

  1. Isolated champions you want to duel, who lacks AoE cc.
    • Can be good versus overly fed champions too, in order to get the bounty.
  2. During a teamfight initiation, either friendly or enemy.

Notes on effectiveness

For this technique to succeed you MUST not be seen before or your ultimate will just be wasted. Worse, it might reveal this technique to the enemy team.

Be sure to take the red trinket (possibly red trink ++) and use it before. Before I used to abuse oracle (RIP) but since the Season 5 this technique got really fresh air thanks to the chicken buff (warn if a ward is near and grant oracle for a couple of seconds).

Mobility boots greatly helps to get fluent, and repositionning after the clone has poped in. Other mobility items (Younmu, Zeal) are encouraged too.

Cons

Very high learning curve

You must practice a lot. Especially for long fuses.

Hard to pop the clone exactly where you want, and to command him after.

Be prepared : you will f*ck up hard on the beginning :

  • Clone pops before Q, => not on the good side of the wall
  • Clone doesn’t run away even if asked 5+ times
  • Ult on top of a ward and is wasted
  • Clone appears so far away the enemy team can’t actually beleive you f*cked up a Deceive this much
  • etc. etc.

Still has to avoid lined skillshots : Even if you are invisible, you are not untargetable. Do no eat morgana’s Q dark binding in the face because she target the clone right behind you.

It’s hard to go in a straight line and go elsewhere as soon as the clone pops in.

Note : Can’t use it to tower dive, as the tower will reveal you straight. Duh.
Note 2 : Abuse it under friendly towers.

Fewer tolerance to error

It removes your 2 escapes tools before you even entered the fight. Can’t time dodge abilities through R too.

It’s really deconcerting the first times, as usually you engage with Q Deceive, put a W Jack in a box (~.5s), do an auto attack (~.5s), R Hallucinate (~1s), AA (~.5s), box fear pops out (~1s) and as the enemy can finally get on you your Q Deceive is almost up (with some CDR and blue buff). But in this case NO. You have to stay in.

I highly recommand having some more delay options before trying this particuliar juke, especially while learning it. An early Guardian angel is the must (take it 3rd or 2nd item), but a Zohnya hourglass cann do the trick too for AP shaco.

Clone differencies

I’ll do a specific article on clone differencies that allow quick demystification to advanced players.

One thing to keep in mind is that clone takes more damages. Versus bursty champions, try to get some hp (phage) & resistance (GA, Randuin, Spirit visage) : If they AA the clone and see it looses half his HP straight, they might stop attacking it straight.

Can’t be used versus all team comp

Really avoid it versus hard cc aoe champs, like Amumu, Sona, Galio, etc. who can CC your clone AND yourself, even if you are still invisible.

Care for good supports too. They will look for your Q smoke puff in the fog of war and might hard counter you with a proper use of red trink ++, or might even drop a pink ward in the middle of the fight.

Almost forgot it : care for natural anti-invis counters like Rek’Sai sonar, Lee sin Q E, Twisted fate Ult, etc.

Gimme Moar

See it in action

Here are some personnal plays using this technique. Still looking for someone to do a decent montage about it.

Evil evilness

If you use it repeatedly on the same game (and especially dueling the same opponent) he might see through your technique. Then consider Reverse YHST : pop your ult as usual, Q in and hit straight your opponent. He might pop an auto attack then wait for the ‘real’ Shaco to pop in the fight.

That’s when the clone (not used yet) pops in :’)
